Mission and targets

The direct premise lying at the base of appointing such an institution as The Observatory was the lack of an organization that would generate and collect data on social problems and actual situation in the Małopolska Region.

This project set a starting point for the activity of the net of non-certified co-operation of Małopolska Observatories (each one with a defined specification) functioning under the common name  ‘Małopolska Regional Development Observatories’ . The mission of this project within the net of Observatories is to warrant the access to necessary data for conducting social policy in the Małopolska Region. The main target is "Efficient social policy in the Małopolska Region’. The following points are planned to be fulfilled:
  1. Guaranteed access to integrated data helping to plan local strategies and programmes for solving social problems
  2. Diagnosis about the exclusion from the society supporting an efficient use of Union financial assistance.
  3. Convenient evaluation of efficient solutions implemented into the area of social policy.
 
From these imposed specific targets there are certain actions of the project to be realized at three different planes:
  • conducting research and analysis being a profound diagnosis of chosen areas of social state of affairs in the Małopolska Region,
  • collection of accessible data from the sector of social policy,
  • convenient evaluation of efficient solutions implemented into the sector of social policy.
